Almoth
The realm of Almoth was once a peaceful place, its inhabitants
were mainly fishermen and farmers, violence within the
realm was unheard of. The capital of Almoth is the citadel
of Minbara, ruled by the Prince Imrahil. Imrahil is a wise
and
mighty ruler, it is said that he knows many things beyond
the knowledge of normal mortals and that his eyes can see deep
within the hearts of men. Although there has always been evil in the
world none have before dared to assail Minbara for the prowess of the
prince in battle is renowned throughout the lands and when he goes
forth to battle with the legendary lance JUSTICE
in his hands all evil
flees before his wrath.
For many years the people of Minbara prospered, then gradually the land
began to darken, people travelling at night started to dissapear.
Those that did arrive at their destination talked of many foul
creatures beginning to inhabit the forests to the north of the
realm. To the north of the land were the mountains of blood
which none would enter, for they were said to be haunted. It was
here that Vlaurkir had secretly entered the land.
Vlaurkir is a sorcerer of great power, evil to the core. Using
his foul arcane powers he summoned many demons and evil spirits
to him and built the black  Tower of Dhoom. Deep within the bowels
of the earth he bred many creatures of strange and twisted shapes
for the conquest of Almoth. For Vlaurkir planned to enslave its
inhabitants.
Chief ally of Minbara was the citadel of Opet a city of great beauty
and home to the priests of  Legion Ben Amon , beloved of the sungod Baal.
One cold and dark night Vlaurkir put forth his power, foul and twisted
creatures with strange, powerful shapes and with a lust for death and
suffering came on the unprepared people of Opet and after a brief and
bloody battle the city was destroyed. Seeing that his city was lost
and his people doomed, Huy Ben Amon, the high priest cut his way through
Vlaurkirs hordes and all that stood in his path felt the bite of his
vulture axe. For with good reason was Huy known as the axeman of the gods.
When news came to Imrahil of the destruction of Opet he knew that peace
within the city could not last, he gathered around him his greatest
captains, Aeglon, Grith, Basti and the tribal chief Manatassi and went
forth to battle with the vile creatures of Vlaurkir. The battle was long
and bloody, with great lost on both sides, however in the end the forces
of Vlaurkir where defeated, for few could look upon the wrath of the prince
in battle. The people rejoiced for it seemed that the war was won and peace
could now return to the land. Little did they know of the extent of Vlaurkirs
power.
For some time the land began to heal its wounds, farmers once again tilled the
fields and trade grew and prospered, then evil came to the land once again.
Vlaurkir seduced Basti and Manatassi to the ways of evil with the promise of
great power and eternal life. They dissapeared from the city and soon after
terrible bands of shrikes brought terror to the countryside. Lostris, the daughter of
Imrahil was kidnapped, bringing despair to the citadel. Imrahil distraught with
grief now gives little thought to defence of the city and the people of Minbara
fear that all is lost.
Aeglon, commander of the legions of Almoth sent Lord Farran, his mightiest
knight to the mountains of dhoom to discover the source of the evil assailing
the land.
Farran was never seen again
